JoyType is a macOS app that turns your voice into text — entirely on your Mac.

The Short Version

• No data collection — we don't collect anything.
• No analytics — we don't track you.
• No cloud processing — your voice never leaves your device.
• Everything stays on your Mac — recordings, transcriptions, and settings are all local.

Permissions

• Microphone — JoyType needs microphone access to hear your voice. Audio is processed locally using on-device speech recognition. We don't record, store, or transmit your voice anywhere.
• Accessibility — JoyType needs Accessibility permission to detect the global hotkey and paste transcribed text into apps. We use this solely for the app's core functionality.
